In an online sharing session on 30 June 2021 organised by SNCF and conducted by Walter Lim from Cooler Insights, co-operators learned about the platforms, tactics and tricks of Social Media Marketing.

The session aimed to equip the co-operators with social media marketing skills which can help boost their digital presence and improve engagements with their co-op members. Walter shared about the importance for co-ops to kickstart their social media journey by mapping out its Social Media Marketing goals as the first step to success, followed by understanding the customer profile, and researching on customer trends through tools such as Google Trends and UberSuggest.

Co-operators also gained a deeper understanding on how popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube cater to different audiences. Customised goals, tone and style, design, and copywriting techniques can also help elevate the effectiveness of your content to reach the desired audience.

With Covid-19 affecting the ways people consume online content, the need to strengthen one’s business in the online sphere should take greater priority in the company’s strategic direction. SNCF is the apex body of Singapore’s Co-operative Movement, and secretariat of the Central Co-operative Fund (CCF). Formed in 1980 with the aim of championing Singapore’s Co-operative Movement, the apex body represents majority of co-operative members in Singapore through its affiliated co-operatives.
