Nineteen members from the Imus Cooperative Federation, City Government of Imus, The Philippines were eager to learn what Creathon is all about and made a special trip to visit Singapore on 16 January 2020.  Held on 18 and 19 January, Creathon is a co-operative business challenge that saw teams pit innovative social ideas for the opportunity to turn their idea into reality.

The Philippines delegation is also keen to learn how the Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF) engages the youth. At the session held on 17 January, SNCF Senior Manager, Sim Seng Huat inspired the visitors on how SNCF, together with the co-operatives, engages the youth through SNCF Scholarship Award, Learning Journeys, SCOOP Trail, Coop Clubs, Creathon and more. There was a lively discussion with good exchanges.

SNCF also arranged for the Philippine delegation to visit NTUC First Campus Co-operative and Singapore Statutory Boards Employees' Co-operative, where they gained insights into the co-operatives’ operations.

The Philippine delegation attended the two-day Creathon competition to experience it first-hand. The delegation left with new-found knowledge of the range and impact of the initiatives the co-ops here offer, as well as a deeper understanding of Creathon competition.
