In the article, “Employers focus on digital upskilling” published in the Singapore Business Review on 13 June, it cited that 58% of employers focused on upskilling their staff's technology-related skills according to NTUC LearningHub’s Employer Skills Survey report.

This is especially important in today’s environment as the pace for digitisation has exacerbated due to COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 is changing the way we live, work and interact at a pace that was unimaginable to many people at the beginning of 2020.

ZOOM AND ADOBE SIGN

To help co-operatives embrace digital transformation, SNCF has planned a series of online sharing sessions on digital related topics. Held on 11 June, the first online sharing session gave participants an overview and basic functionality of Zoom and Adobe Sign. The objective of session was to share the ease of adoption of such technology and how digitization can make one’s work more efficient and safer remotely. One participant expressed that he was not was not aware of Adobe Sign prior to the session and was surprised at the ease of use and its usefulness. The session, which saw more than 50 participants, was well received with many requesting for a second session for their staff and members. Close to 20 participants attended the second session held on 17 July.

DIGITAL MARKETING FUNDAMENTALS

On 7 July, SNCF collaborated with the Singapore Professionals' & Executives' Co-operative (SPEC) to introduce an online session entitled “Digital Marketing Fundamentals”. Ms Charis Chio, Managing Director from The Leadership Institute, shared with the participants valuable insights into the different aspects of digital marketing such as social media, content marketing, email marketing, SEO, SEM and web design. The various case studies shared illustrated the impact and power of social media and the importance of implementing the correct digital marketing strategy across the different media channels.  Some of the key takeaways which the participants shared were better understanding of the different social media platforms like the target market and user profile as well as the difference between SEO and SEM. Digital marketing has become ever more important for businesses to stand out in current environment where social distancing is the new norm.

With remote working becoming a norm, many organisations are accelerating their adoption of digital solutions. Here’s a guide to get started on digitalisation. It is now even more crucial for co-operatives to embrace digital transformation to stay relevant and keep pace with the changing world. Hence, SNCF will continue to hold online sharing sessions on a regular basis to help co-operatives speed up the adoption of technological tools to overcome challenges and unlock new growth opportunities.
