Here are 10 SNCF stories Co-operators read and loved in 2022

To round off 2022, we recount the best and most read stories by fellow co-operators for this year. 

2022 was the year where Singapore regained a sense of normalcy since the pandemic began in 2020. With the social restrictions easing, local co-operatives have begun hosting and attending events held by Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF) and other stakeholders.

It was also the year where SNCF brought some of our co-operative members overseas to learn what other overseas co-ops are faring during the pandemic and network with them. Recounting the memorable happenings in the past year, here are the most read stories that our fellow co-operators have read and view for the year 2022.

1. Sharon Au finds lessons in failure and wants more to embrace them

This International Women’s Day, SNCF spoke with former Mediacorp actress Sharon Au on how she embodies the co-operative value of self-help, or in her own terms embracing failures as catalyst of change.

She said: “I embrace failure, the same way I embrace success. Accept it, don’t let it get to your head, it shouldn’t change your character, integrity, and values, and then move on.”

2. Doing Good: What did SNCF do to celebrate National Day 2022

On the eve of National Day, SNCF staff spent half a day out in the energetic neighbourhood of Toa Payoh to donate second-hand books.

3. Faces of Co-operators: Ceramist Kim Whye Kee is an ISCOS Titan who finds zen in hand-made crafts

SNCF’s in-house writer and content strategist spoke with Kim Whye Kee, a talented ceramist who finds zen in making tea and coffee wares in his abode in north-eastern Singapore. Whye Kee is an ISCOS Titan, an initiative by local co-operative ISCOS that seeks to empower ex-offenders.
