Silver Horizon Travel Co-operative Ltd, a social enterprise formed by seniors for fellow seniors, has formed a new board of committee members. The founding members, from various walks of life, started this co-operative since February 2012, with the mission to promote active living and learning through customized travel programs for seniors. The activities are intended to make life more active and meaningful for seniors.

SNCF hosted International Co-operatives Alliance (ICA) and ICA Asia-Pacific Board representatives for a dinner on 30 March 2015 to mark the 90th anniversary of the Singapore Co-operative Movement. During the cocktail reception, our foreign participants took a trip down memory lane while viewing the Singapore Co-operatives Journey Wall exhibition that showcased the history of Singapore’s Co-op Movement from the 1920s onwards.

This inaugural national event on 22 March 2015 is the first and only race in Singapore where participants run alongside over 200 visually, intellectually and physically-challenged runners. It aims to use mainstream sport like running, to promote integration with the visibly-handicapped members of the society to nurture an inclusive Singapore.

SNCF Staff had a good time with Runninghour host at the end of the run/walk.

rp talk

It was the day before their last exam paper. However, exam anxiety did not distract the second year Social Enterprise students of Republic Polytechnic from giving their focused attention to the SNCF Campus team. The team was pleasantly surprised by the knowledge and keen interest in co-operatives displayed by the students who enthusiastically posed questions on co-operative grants and assessments.
